From frustrating co-workers/group members to annoying family members, we all have that moment where we just go “UUUGGGHHHH GOOD BYE!” and dramatically run off into the sunset. Sadly we can't do it so easily, wellll we could but you know life and all that. But for those who want a little peace and quiet inside their own minds, it’s not hard to do.
Let’s face it, frustration and stress are present at every point you turn and getting away from it is not as easy we would hope for it to be. But it’s relatively easy to find your own happy place inside your little slice of the world, your mind. Here are some tips:
Meditate: No I am trying to turn you into a monk that chants holy words every 5 seconds but meditating is a great stress reliever as it emphasizes deep breathing and clearing the mind of the clutter and negative thoughts present every day. It’s also very easy to do anywhere since it doesn’t require any special equipment or techniques really. There’s a whole movement behind the art of meditation and aligning your chakra with nature but you don’t really have to get into that.
Find a hobby: This one seems like a no brainer but for many finding a hobby outside of school/work feels like work/school all over again. Many would just simple state that their hobbies are watching TV or going on social media, these are not hobbies but addictions and you should get help for that lol. A hobby should have a level of interactivity that enables you to get active and feel rewarded at the end of it. There are millions of hobbies, many with vibrant and supportive communities. I personally love books so my friends and I have a book swap every now and again, I also looove nature so I go hikes and take pictures. I can’t cook to save my life but every now and again I attempt to burn down the kitchen because it’s something I would like to learn and enjoy. Even writing a blog is a hobby that is often relaxing and rewarding. Anything can be a hobby as long as it takes away from stress and offers some sense of peace of mind.
Taking care of yourself: All work and no play makes Jack a very dull, boring and often cranky boy. I used to question why persons paid for massages, you’re basically paying someone to knead you like flour, that making any sense? Then I got a massage after a very stressful week and let me tell you, I am a happy convert, knead me like flour any day baby. But joking aside, taking care of yourself goes far beyond getting a trim and showering looking at the guys here. Getting a manicure/pedicure isn’t a bad thing, Jogging releases happy chemical called endorphins and is a great way to stay in shape and once again that massage is Heaven on Earth plus you look even better for the Gram, get em selfies on point nah mean?
